Accidental homeschooler

So has many of you know I have 4 children and 3 of them are school aged. We recently moved back to a school district we once loved. Once here we got a slap in the face the school was not what it use to be. Since all 3 of my boys have I.E.P's this fact was a hard hit for us but we chose to continue with the school to see what happened. Needless to say after 3 months and no positive results and more negative results form the teachers and principle we chose to pull our children out of public school. I have to admit I am very scared and so very nervous. I never realized buying the curriculum so expensive esp if your buying for more than one child. So I have been trying to find free lessons online; I have to give home schoolers who home school out of 100 percent wanting to some huge credit. I feel very overwhelmed and I hope i can do right by my kids and provide them with a great education.

So far thing shave been going ok. I love the fact my 6 year old isnt coming home asking me about things 6 year olds should know nothing about. I do worry that im not fulfilling there social and educational needs as they now spend 24/7 with mom and dad.

So know my question is Please give me any advice you can, words of wisdom ?

We recently had a MommyParties sponsored by Neon Tiki Tribe. It was a wonderful party and the Neon Tiki Tribe books were/ are wonderful. In todyas society bullying has became a frequent event. These books teach children how to handle life issues and dealing with a bullying.

The books are colorful and full of great info and also resources.  My children and the other children spent almost an hour reading the books and switching out to read others kids books. Thank you MommyParties sponsored by Neon Tiki Tribe.

Blue Diamond Almond Breeze® review and giveaway

I was sent Blue Diamond Almond Breeze® from Momsmeet blogger to review and give away 3 free coupons.

I used Blue Diamond Almond Breeze® as a milk substitute for cereal, recipes and my coffee. We loved it and will continue to buy it. My children loved the sweetness it added to there cereal. I also used it in my smoothies instead of regular milk. Blue Diamond Almond Breeze® is creamy and has a slight sweetness to it. I also have replaced my creamer with Blue Diamond Almond Breeze®. They have many flavors and I bet you will find at least one you love.  Now my true true test for Blue Diamond Almond Breeze® was to use it instead of regular milk in my homemade creamy mashed potatoes. That is my CHILDREN'S FAVORITE FOOD. So instead of milk i used the Blue Diamond Almond Breeze® coconut and my children told me it was there favorite mashed potatoes ever  all 5 pounds were gone none left over.

Since i loved this product so much  I am giving away 3 free coupons so you can try it yourself and see how great it is. Leave a comment below and i will choose 3 winners tomorrow afternoon.

Moms crew Claritin and the Ftc. My thoughts

I must say, that I am rather apalled at the level of ignorance among seemingly intelligent people. These blogs are all about testing out products and talking about them. That is what we do. Yet now we are beset by the self righteous ignorance of a few petty people with a soap box to sell. In particular, I mention as an example a blogger known as Mary Tyler Mom, who honestly seems to think that we held parties to drug our children. She actually said we handed out medicine like popcorn. As if we put a bunch of pills in a bowl and passed it out with soda. I cannot believe such rediculousness and the level of ignorance it shows. Ah well, therin lies the two edged sword of blogging. It can be a way of expressing one's self in a positive light, and it can also make you look like a fool. We held a party to discuss the medicine. We tried the medicine. My children have been using antihistimines every year for years because of allergies. We administer medicine, not the children. We administer medicine in a responsible manner, according to directions. I am no more going to let my child choose or administer medicine any more than I am going to let them choose and fire a handgun. Our medicine is in a high cabinet away from little hands, as all medicine should be. To think that a picture on a package is a deciding factor on what and how to administer medicine to a child is ludicrous. To think that I let my children choose what to buy for me is even more so. Medicine is not a treat, but medicine. I do not care for packaging, I care for what works, which is what this party in particular was about; moms getting together to discuss whether or not this product works.
Now to the concept that packaging will make kids pretend to have allergies, I wonder how it is possible for a child to fake allergy symptoms. More importantly, I wonder how it is possible for a mom to really be fooled. I suppose I can't speak for all moms and children the world over, but I am confidently sure that my child cannot fake me that well. A mom can tell when her child is sick.
Do you refuse to buy flavored cough medicine? Is it wrong to use a product that has flavor? Consider this logic, if your child comes to you and says he/she has a cough, and they want the bubble gum flavor, does the child have the power, or the adult who gives it? So what sense does it make to fight over the packaging, unless the day comes when a child can go to the store to buy this stuff on their own? Now if you think I buy this stuff because it has a picture on the front, please go back and read my earlier paragraphs.
When I buy toothpaste, I sometimes buy the packages with characters on them. Why not, if it helps the children to like brushing their teeth? I buy vitamins, and I get the flavored gummies with characters. I see no problem with these things. I buy flavored cough medicine, because they are more likely to drink it. If I buy a flavored antihistimine for the same reason, I see no harm. It is not as though I leave medicine on the counter for the kids to rifle through. It is not as though I take requests for this sort of thing. No responsible parent lets their children dothese things. If a picture on the package lets the kids take what they need to get better, what is the harm? Just because something is cute, does not make it necessary. A parent chooses what is necessary for the health of the child. That is the job of a responsible parent.
Now I get the concern about the packaging. I don't share it for the a fore mentioned reasons, but everyone has an opinion. If that is a serious concern for you, talk to the company. If your problem is with Claritin, talk to Claritin. Don't bad mouth mothers who are only trying to test a product. We do not work for "Big Pharma". We do not get a commission. These blogs are about the product, not the name, not the marketing. Take your issues with them about those things. I also want to say that i am a moms crew member and I am proud to be one. We were given a chance to try a product and share our honest thought on the product with other moms, while the children were pleasantly watching a video or playing a game. The advertisement of the characters were on the outside of the box, not on the bottle and for the record how many parents keep the box that the medicine came in and further more you could easily remove the Madagascar  part of the packaging and not harm the box in anyway.  If you were at any of these parties you would have seem that the children were entertained by the activities while the parents enjoyed a conversation about claritin.

Juicy Juice Fruitable's

Ok ladies first off  no one sent me these try and review I bought these from the grocery store myself.

I am very upset, first off they claim to be 100% juice  and they also claim to be made in the U.S.A.

After I opened the package and handed them out to my kids . First thing i see is CONCENTRATE FROM CHINA. But they say they are made in California.

Second issue is No where on its package does it  say 60 % Juice. This juice box  is suppose to be  ALL NATURAL APPLE QUENCH but it is not. I personally buy juicy juice because it is 100 percent juice and i bought these under the same assumption . No where on the outside package does it say they are 60 percent juice until you unwrap the package and get the individual juice box.

And i also feel like i should be informed that the juice concentrate is from CHINA .  Every food item from china gets recalled , shouldn't i as a consumer have this information before i purchase the item, not after i have purchased the item and unwrapped the item? I feel decieved  by this purchase. This is just my thoughts and my review of this item and i will not buy this brand agian. I typically do not write reviews because each person has different tastes, this review has nothing to do with the taste of the product. My problem is the packaging and the fact I was not given all the information before i purchased this product. I hope juicy juice re does there packaging and puts all the information on the front of the package so you can see it before you purchase it and open it.

Here the ingredients on the side of the juice box.

APPLE JUICE FROM CONCENTRATE
WATER,
NATURAL FLAVOR
ASCORBIC ACID
CITRIC ACID

Homeschool

I have been a mom for almost 10 years, I have days i feel like super mom and other days i feel like the worst mom ever. I have 2 special needs children with Iep's. Desmend who is almost 10 and gabriel who is almost 6. I really want to home school my children, but I am not sure i can handle it and that they would retain the information i gave them. I try very hard to keep a routine and a schedule, but we do not always manage to keep to them. Someday i feel like the public school here ,which is an A plus school is doing great with my children other days not so much.

Desmend for example, thrives and keeping busy, has a hard time focusing but excels in reading. He is in third grade and reads on a 6th grade level. Math does not come easy for him and is easily frustrated with math and his teachers. He tries but always seems to get knocked down even with an accomplishment.

Ayden excels in math does wonderful and pulls home A and B'a every semester, but gets in trouble for being bored i9n math and then the teachers feel like he is not reaching is goals in reading. Ayden is a loving child who i feel like does his best even at home. He gets bored and needs to stay busy,

Gabriel, well he is a drummer that beats to his own tune. He is severely lacking in the speech department and articulation is a huge problem. He was born at 34 weeks and also got spinal meningitis when he was 7 days old and spent nearly a month in the picu. He is defiantly behind not just in school but also maturity wise. We don't have a specif cause or diagnosis for this yet.

So i am not sure what I am going to do but i could use some thoughts from those that home school and those that don't.  I wonder sometimes if i give my children all the advantages that i want them to have in life. Just some thought on homeschooling and my boys.I am just not 100 percent sure i can give them everything they need to be ready for adulthood and college if i home-school. I am also not certain i can keep a great schedule to do there classwork and get them intrigued enough not to block me out.

What do you do when a child bust's out his adult tooth?

Well lets just say we had an interesting Friday night. The afternoon started out normal kids playing in the yard, i was about to start cooking a late dinner. I hear a scream and turn around and Ayden my middle son who is 6 had tried to slam dunk the basketball by climbing on the side of the pole and got his tooth caught in the wood around the net. All you see is blood everywhere, i rushed him inside clean his mouth out and realize his entire front tooth root an all is gone and a huge cut straight thru his gums to his bottom. My sister saw the tooth laying in the dirt we grabbed it and ran to the emergency. Where we live at we have a small er, after we got there the doctor called Shands of gainseville and we were transferred there to the emergency oral surgery department. Before i tell the end of my night let me tell you a few things you should know if your childs permanent tooth gets knocked out.

1.  Grab the tooth, rinse in warm water for 10 seconds

2.   Dip the tooth in milk,  yes you heard me milk.

3. Gently put tooth back in spot

4. Have child bite down on rolled up clean washcloth.

5. head to the nearest children's hospital

We did not know any of these things before this happened. Now our son may loose the tooth that was put back in surgically last night. We had no clue that we should the tooth in milk or the try and set it back in ourselves. Finally  the oral surgeon came in and she was wonderful, they had to clean and scrape the tooth, clean and scrap the gum and then put the tooth back in the gaping hole. Because he cut his gum so badly we has metal braces holding the tooth in and also a few stitches  on his gum to close the hole. Now we wait and see if the nerves grow back in and the ligaments fuse together. We will be seeing alot of the dentist over the next two months. So if your parent please please follow the list above and hopefully if this ever happenes to you, you can prevent the pain and numerous surgery's  that we couldn't.

walmart lavender detergent

I was trying to slim down our laundry budget and i chose to buy the walmart brand lavender laundry detergent. Let em say I do not liek this detergent. It just doesnt feel like it gets my clothing clean, left a slight residue on my jeans and skirts. If it would of been a good fit for my family then it would of cut down my bill a few dollars, but since i had to wash the items twice i ended spending more on this detergent. Has anyone else tried this product and had diofferent results?
